Reality

At long last, Rhett severs the superficial bonds that chain him to Earth, freeing his soul from entanglement. In the absence of external stimuli, his mind undertakes an abstract quest to escape the false world.

Rhett awakes in the primitive world of Groceria and quickly determines it to be yet another false reality. Comprised of the stereotypical characters that populate the fantasy shows of Earth, Groceria attempts to entangle his soul by casting him as the hero of a prototypical, murky prophecy.

Rhett fails to escape the formulaic lore of the false world, acquiring a curious familiar, a legendary artifact, and stubborn companion before he can construct a feasible plan of escape. However, just as he nears his breaking point, Rhett learns that the god of Earth and Groceria, a man known as Alden, are one in the same.

Left with no alternative, Rhett reluctantly assumes his destiny as the false world’s hero, plotting to use the power of the fallen god to achieve his goal. Armed with a limited physical skillset, Rhett must capitalize on his earthly knowledge of the archetypal fantasy characters of Groceria to fulfill the prophecy and discover the truth of reality.

The Gate

There is an art to taking over a world. Fortunately, Alistair is an artist.

A renowned Conqueror, Alistair has claimed countless worlds across the Planes, and Arboreal appears to be the easiest yet. Fueled by the chaos of the Eternal War and ruled by an inept second-hand Creator, the failing world is ripe for conquest. There is even a readymade precedent, a rebellion led by the world’s legendary savior, Isaac Atwood, who freed Arboreal from the reign of the previous Conqueror a millennium before.

After casting himself as the iconic hero reborn and uniting the plagued populous beneath his banner, it is only a matter of time before Alistair locates the gate and takes control of Arboreal. Of course, nothing is ever as easy as it seems. In the shadows, the weakened soul of the world’s former Conqueror lingers, and within his own army, resides a powerful descendant of Isaac Atwood seeking the truth of the gate.

But no matter. There is nothing Alistair cannot handle.

Death is not the end. Death is a game. Life is its prize.

For Landon, the game is new and ten lives seem a thousand. The overwhelming odds mean little, and there is no enemy he cannot overcome. However, the game is complex and unforgiving. Populated by an army of Black Cloaks (former players turned foe) and six powerful level bosses, it proves impossible to conquer alone.

Landon’s best hope lies in joining his team. Only together, can the unique skills of the eight players overcome the game’s treacherous objectives and innovative foes. But even with an experienced team, Landon’s return to life is far from assured. The true path to victory may be a secret quest discovered only by chance.

For the team’s captain, Sane, one attempt is all that remains. The game has taken everything else – nine lives and the woman he loves. Yet, Maria is not gone. Landon’s arrival brings the final piece needed for his desperate plan of escape, a silver key.
